Football Recap: Bearden Falls to Alcoa in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Bearden had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 63-13 loss at the hands of the Alcoa Tornadoes. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-13.

Thomas Manu was nothing short of spectacular for Alcoa: he threw for 259 yards and six TDs while completing 94.1% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jamerius Abuhania, who picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win (which was Alcoa's 15th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Bearden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 56-0 defeat against Maryville on the 5th. As for Alcoa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 52-7 victory against Gibbs on the 5th.
