League recap: Baker extends winning streak with victory over La Grande

Baker extended the longest winning streak in 4A Greater Oregon this week by beating La Grande, 70-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Bulldogs.

Baker was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting the Tigers. Dave Johnson's team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.

Ontario's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trampis Waite threw for 304 and three touchdowns and Ben Turner had 159 yards receiving. On the ground Jake Lande chipped in 96 yards. Jason Haueter helped Ontario's passing attack out by catching three balls for 74 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Waite of the Tigers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1547. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, the Bulldogs' trent taylor has rushed for 693 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is dane bachman. The Baker star has 44 catches for 922 yards.

Baker led the league in scoring this week after putting up 70 points on La Grande. braden phillips threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 12 yards in the win.
