Baseball Game Preview: Murray County Central Rebels vs. Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Falcons

The Murray County Central Rebels will head out to face off against the Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Murray County Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Murray County Central's victory against Russell-Tyler-Ruthton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 9-7. The game was the first time the Rebels have beaten the Knights on their field since May 19, 2016.

Meanwhile, Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 12-4 to Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian.

Murray County Central pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Murray County Central took their victory against Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
