Softball Recap: Patapsco Patriots vs. Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines

Patapsco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 17-6 walloping at the hands of the Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Patapsco of the 15-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

For Western Tech & Environmental Science's part, Isabella Alban made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Alban was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Abby Webb was incredible, going 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Juliahna Thomas was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Patapsco's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Patapsco will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lansdowne at 1:00 p.m. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, they will head out on the road to square off against Kenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
