Baseball Game Preview: Plainville Blue Devils vs. Edwin O. Smith Panthers

Plainville hasn't had much luck against Edwin O. Smith recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Panthers at 3:45 p.m.

Plainville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Platt on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Edwin O. Smith had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over RHAM on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Raptors on their field since May 16, 2019.

Edwin O. Smith's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Woodmansee, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Caden Miller was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Plainville's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Edwin O. Smith, their record now sits at 6-9.
