Softball Game Preview: Patrick County Cougars vs. Carroll County Cavaliers

The Patrick County Cougars will head out to face off against the Carroll County Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Patrick County managed to slip by Alleghany the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Patrick County came up short against Alleghany on Friday, falling 7-1. Patrick County's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Patrick County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Journey Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Carroll County suffered their biggest loss since April 15th on Friday. They lost 12-3 to Floyd County.

Carroll County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Patrick County, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.

Patrick County beat Carroll County 6-3 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
