Soccer Game Preview: Gridley vs. Live Oak

The Gridley Bulldogs will head out to take on the Live Oak Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gridley comes in on seven and Live Oak on six.

Last Thursday, Gridley made easy work of Pierce and carried off a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Live Oak gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Hamilton 2-1. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Braves are ranked 808th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gridley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matches. As for Live Oak, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-1.
