Softball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Marist RedHawks, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the RedHawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 on Saturday.

Carmel saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Marist, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1.

Carmel and Marist should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Corsairs will challenge Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 188). Meanwhile, Marist (ranked second) will meet Nazareth Academy (ranked 160th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
