Basketball Recap: Metrolina Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Metrolina Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a blow against the Concord Academy Eagles, falling 82-40. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.

Despite the defeat, Metrolina Christian Academy had strong showings from Malachi Wilson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points, and Deangelo Walker, who posted eight points and six rebounds. Walker has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

It was another big night for Lincoln Raper, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points along with five assists and five boards for Concord Academy. Those 29 points gave Raper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gray Madeira, who earned 11 points and six rebounds.

Metrolina Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Concord Academy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 28-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Gaston Day the next time they take the court. Concord Academy will host Gaston Day at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Metrolina Christian Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
