Softball Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais Victorious

Bradley-Bourbonnais's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Sandburg Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Boilermakers have posted since March 31st.

Lydia Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bradley-Bourbonnais saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Suttyn Hop, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Hop has posted since back in March.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Sandburg, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Bradley-Bourbonnais will take on Kankakee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln-Way West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
