Baseball Game Preview: College Station Cougars vs. Brenham Cubs

College Station is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Brenham Cubs at 7:00 p.m. Brenham took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on College Station, who comes in off a win.

Brenham will be up against a hot College Station team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. College Station came out on top against Jersey Village by a score of 5-2 on Saturday. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season so far.

College Station got a great performance from Kaden Green as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, College Station's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cade Cadenewton6@Gmail.Com, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Brenham didn't have quite enough to beat Magnolia West on Friday and fell 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cubs have suffered against the Mustangs since March 29, 2019.

College Station now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Brenham, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-1.

College Station was able to grind out a solid victory over Brenham when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 11-7. Does College Station have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brenham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
