The Plainfield South Cougars will square off against the Minooka Indians at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Plainfield South took a 11-run  loss the last time they faced off against Oswego, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers on Monday, sneaking past  3-2.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Minooka, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Joliet West  a   9-0 shutout  on Monday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight  runs or more this season.
 Marina Hristov tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Addisonn Crumly, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was  Gracie Anderson, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Minooka  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Joliet West only posted  an  OBP of  .120.
 Minooka pushed their record up to 15-8 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Plainfield South, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
 Plainfield South came out on top in a nail-biter against Minooka in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024, sneaking past  4-3. Will the Cougars repeat their success,  or do  the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
