Meanwhile, Fountain Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Corona del Mar. That's two games in a row now that the Barons have lost by exactly three goals.

Fountain Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-4-3. As for Huntington Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-4.

Everything went Huntington Beach's way against Fountain Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Huntington Beach made off with an 8-1 win. Will Huntington Beach repeat their success, or does Fountain Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
