Basketball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

Southeast had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 5-16 to make it four. They were dealt an 83-35 loss at the hands of the Parrish Community Bulls. While losing is never fun, the Seminoles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Bulls are ranked 55th).

Several Seminoles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tavares Powell, who posted eight points and six rebounds. Powell is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 12 games he's played. Wade Perkins was another key player, putting up eight points.

As for Parrish Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Parrish Community's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Pasch, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Pasch has posted since back in January of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Roberts, who shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points and five assists.

Southeast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-43 defeat against Bayshore on the 22nd. As for Parrish Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-39 win against Palmetto on the 22nd.
