Basketball Recap: Lacrosse Falls Short of Greeley County in the Playoffs

LaCrosse and Greeley County squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but LaCrosse had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Greeley County Jackrabbits by a score of 51-49. The Leopards' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Greeley County was led to victory by Lincoln Shafer and Braxon Mangan. Shafer shot 54% from the field en route to 16 points and four steals, while Mangan went 7-for-10 on his way to 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Mangan now owns an excellent 46.7% shooting accuracy. Hayden Myers was another key player, putting up eight points.

LaCrosse's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Greeley County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

LaCrosse does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greeley County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-50 defeat against Central Plains on the 8th.
