South Lenoir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Clinton Dark Horses. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dark Horses this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While South Lenoir ultimately came up short, they really made Clinton work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-28, 25-15, 25-16.

Clinton was led to victory by Jenna Jackson and Cameron Marshburn. Jackson had 15 digs and four aces, while Marshburn had 34 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Jackson has posted since back in September. Emery Johnson was another key player, getting 24 digs.

South Lenoir's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lenoir will challenge Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will face off against Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
