Soccer Game Preview: Langley vs. Wakefield

The Langley Saxons will head out on the road to face off against the Wakefield Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Langley fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight defense on Monday. They fell just short of the Majors by a score of 1-0. Langley have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wakefield didn't have quite enough to beat Washington-Liberty on Friday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Wakefield in their meetings with Washington-Liberty: they've now lost three in a row.

Wakefield's goal came courtesy of Erik Vasquez Ayala, who's now up to five this season.

Langley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Wakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-2.

Langley suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Wakefield when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Saxons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
