Wetumpka had won two straight games and Charles Skipper did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Indians strolled past the Percy Julian Phoenix with points to spare, taking the game 34-20 for which the team can thank Skipper, who threw for 178 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 51 yards on only six carries. His passing game has become a key predictor of Wetumpka's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Percy Julian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Orrion Harvest, who picked up 36 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 35 yards.

Wetumpka now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Percy Julian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Wetumpka and Percy Julian will both be playing Park Crossing the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th, while the Phoenix will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
