Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

The Cristo Rey Royals lost 41-16 to the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fredericksburg Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amri Donado led the charge by shooting 45% from the field on her way to 24 points and three steals. Donado's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Thomas, who posted three points and seven steals.

Cristo Rey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cristo Rey will head out to face off against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they will square off against St. Catherine's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
