Softball Recap: Madison Central Indians vs. Model Patriots
Madison Central waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Model Patriots with a sharp 10-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their one-run performance the game before.
Sydney Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mollie Neeley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Makayla Bickett also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
