Basketball Game Preview: Mater Biscayne Academy Wildcats vs. Franklin Academy Panthers

The Mater Biscayne Academy Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Franklin Academy Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Franklin Academy will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Mater Biscayne Academy extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Wildcats claimed a resounding 70-39 victory over LaProgresiva Presbyterian. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.

Tom Ruben continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 47.1% shooting accuracy. Kevin Samway was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and three steals.

Mater Biscayne Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin Academy). They breezed past Greater Miami Academy to the tune of 82-13 on Wednesday. With the Panthers ahead 42-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

The victory got Mater Biscayne Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Franklin Academy, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.

Mater Biscayne Academy came up short against Franklin Academy in their previous meeting last Monday, falling 62-55. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
