Volleyball Preview: Haynes Academy vs. Mt. Carmel Cubs
After three games on the road, Haynes Academy is heading back home. They will square off against the Mt. Carmel Cubs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Thursday, Haynes Academy got the win against Belle Chasse by a conclusive 3-0.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Feehan, who had 11 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last seven games she's played.
Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel and Bonnabel faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Thursday. Everything went Mt. Carmel's way against Bonnabel as Mt. Carmel made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mt. Carmel was: they took every set by at least 17 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-3, 25-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Carmel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Clement, who had three digs and 31 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Pechon, who had 11 digs and two aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Mt. Carmel was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Haynes Academy's record is now 10-1. As for Mt. Carmel, their record now sits at 22-5.
