Basketball Recap: Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons Takes a Loss

Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons lost against Grand Meadow back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons took a 60-44 bruising from the Grand Meadow Superlarks. While losing is never fun, Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Grand Meadow is ranked 88th).

Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Grand Meadow, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons and Blue Earth will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons is facing Blue Earth at the right time seeing as Blue Earth is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Grand Meadow will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Kenyon-Wanamingo at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
