Baseball Preview: Mt. Vernon Wildcats vs. Princeton Tigers
Mt. Vernon has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Princeton Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Mt. Vernon is headed into the match fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Vincennes Rivet an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Mt. Vernon with their most commanding win of the season.
Kyle Holder made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Holder has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Holder was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

The victory got Mt. Vernon back to even at 6-6. As for Princeton, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
