Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gananda Central, Bloomfield was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Greece Arcadia Titans. This was payback for the Bombers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Braedon Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Levi Gumaer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyle Dredger, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Greece Arcadia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will square off against East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bombers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Greece Arcadia, they will challenge Batavia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
