Soccer Game Preview: Marion vs. Graham

Marion hasn't had much luck against Graham recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Scarlet Hurricanes will head out on the road to take on the G-Men at 7:00 p.m.

Marion is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Tazewell. That's two games in a row now that Marion have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Graham's game on Tuesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They never let Lebanon get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Give Graham's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

They hit Lebanon with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cambel Fix, Lucas Nash, and Blake Graham.

Graham pushed their record up to 5-1-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Marion might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Graham in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Scarlet Hurricanes were down 4-0.
