Howells-Dodge extended the longest winning streak in D1 District 2 (8 Man) this week by beating Clarkson/Leigh, 34-8. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Jaguars.
The Patriots made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 630 from 700. The advance stemmed from a 34-8 victory over Clarkson/Leigh last week.
Omaha Christian Academy's dynamic duo of Tyler McDonald and Tyler Deaver proved tough for Cedar Bluffs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McDonald threw for 37 yards and one touchdown and Deaver had 37 yards receiving.
Brady Brester made the biggest impact on defense this week as Howells-Dodge topped Jim Clarkson's team. The senior recorded two fumbles.
Matthew Gooch was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 131 yards as Mike Speirs' team bested the Wildcats. Teammate Brandon Wragge added to the ground attack by rushing for 53 yards.
The Patriots' Logan Went and Thomas Urban have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Went has thrown for 396 yards this season, while Urban, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 11 catches for 231 yards. Omaha Christian Academy's Dalton Daegas-Pinkerton leads the league in rushing yards with 924.
