Soccer Game Preview: Rockford Christian vs. Genoa-Kingston

The Rockford Christian Royal Lions will challenge the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rockford Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Winnebago 2-1.

Ava Reese was the driving force of Rockford Christian's attack as she scored both of Rockford Christian's goals, bringing her season total up to 26 goals.

Genoa-Kingston played against Lutheran on Friday and won via forfeit.

The victory (which was Genoa-Kingston's 18th in a row) raised their record to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 78 goals over those 18 contests. As for Rockford Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12-1.

Rockford Christian might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Genoa-Kingston when the teams last played back in April. Can the Royal Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
