Recap: South Central Trojans vs. Mansfield Christian Flames
The South Central Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Mansfield Christian 78-48. South Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mansfield Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, South Central saw an underclassman step up: Bryan Chaffee scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Knoll, who scored six points along with three steals.
South Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
South Central bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Mansfield Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Central will challenge Mapleton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mansfield Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
