Recap: Cattaraugus-Little Valley Timberwolves vs. Franklinville Panthers
The Cattaraugus-Little Valley Timberwolves lost against the Franklinville Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cattaraugus-Little Valley was beaten by Franklinville 57-28. While losing is never fun, Cattaraugus-Little Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 870th, while Franklinville is ranked 389th).
Cattaraugus-Little Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dj Szata, who scored nine points. Brayden Young was another key contributor, scoring four points.
This is the second loss in a row for Cattaraugus-Little Valley and nudges their season record down to 4-14. As for Franklinville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cattaraugus-Little Valley will challenge Pine Valley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cattaraugus-Little Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. Franklinville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ellicottville at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Ellicottville is coming into the contest with six straight wins at home, so Franklinville is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
