Baseball Recap: James F. Byrnes Triumphs

Eastside typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday James F. Byrnes proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Eagles.

Connor Crenshaw was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Crenshaw was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Crenshaw wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blake Collins, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

James F. Byrnes' victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Eastside, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.

James F. Byrnes will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
