Sauk Rapids-Rice came tearing into Saturday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Kimball Cubs. That's more bragging rights for the Storm, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sauk Rapids-Rice easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11.

Stella Lambaere paced Sauk Rapids-Rice's offense, picking up five kills. Lambaere got some help from Aubrey Marketon and her nine assists. Marketon also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Josie Anderson, racking up three apiece.

Sauk Rapids-Rice's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Kimball, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Sauk Rapids-Rice wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Watertown-Mayer on the 6th. As for Kimball, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Foley on the 6th.
