Soccer Game Preview: Los Angeles CES vs. Palisades

Los Angeles CES hasn't had much luck against Palisades recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Los Angeles CES Unicorns will challenge the Palisades Dolphins at 11:30 a.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Los Angeles CES's offense. They lost 5-0 to Venice on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Unicorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 763rd, while the Gondoliers are ranked 149th).

Meanwhile, Palisades hasn't lost a match since December 13, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. Neither they nor University could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Dolphins' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

With that draw, Palisades' record moves to 14-2-2. As for Los Angeles CES, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3-3.

Los Angeles CES came up short against Palisades when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Los Angeles CES avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
