Softball Recap: Newbury Park Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Newbury Park's offense. They came up short against the Thousand Oaks Lancers on Thursday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost three in a row.

Newbury Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hanna Porter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Newbury Park's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Thousand Oaks, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newbury Park will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Channel Islands at 3:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Thousand Oaks, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Huntington Beach at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
