Basketball Recap: Susquehanna Valley Comes Up Short

Susquehanna Valley was the 71-60 winner over Chenango Forks when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Susquehanna Valley Sabers came up short against the Chenango Forks Blue Devils on Friday, falling 50-30. The match marked the Sabers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ethan Vaseleck had a dynamite game for Chenango Forks, going 7 of 15 en route to 16 points along with eight boards and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Vaseleck a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Paske, who posted ten points and six boards.

Susquehanna Valley dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chenango Forks, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Susquehanna Valley will host Oneonta at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Chenango Forks has already played their next contest (against Waverly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
