Baseball Recap: Albion Takes a Loss

Albion fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Notre Dame on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fighting Irish by a score of 8-7. The Purple Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it 12 in a row dating back to last season.

Elliott Trapiss was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Nathan Gibson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Albion's record now sits at 0-3. As for Notre Dame, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Albion will host Barker at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame, they will take on Byron-Bergen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
