Flag Football Game Preview: Crenshaw Cougars vs. GALA Goddesses

The Crenshaw Cougars will face off against the GALA Goddesses at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Crenshaw sitting on four straight victories and GALA on three.

Crenshaw's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They strolled past George Washington Prep with points to spare, taking the game 19-0. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Generals are ranked 539th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crenshaw's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nevaeh Bell, who threw for 88 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 47 yards. The dominant performance also gave Bell a new career-high in passing touchdowns (two). Tehessanderse Derisseau also deserves a mention for her punt return touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Crenshaw's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Rashi Avery-Smith with two.

GALA played against Jordan on Monday and won via forfeit.

GALA's win bumped their record up to 10-2-1. As for Crenshaw, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1.
