Volleyball Game Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Northwest Whitfield Bruins

The Jefferson Dragons will take on the Northwest Whitfield Bruins on Saturday. Jefferson will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Jefferson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Peach County.

Meanwhile, Northwest Whitfield was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Lumpkin County.

Northwest Whitfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 0-25, 0-25, 25-0, 25-0, 15-0.

Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 28-10. As for Northwest Whitfield, their victory bumped their record up to 28-14.

Jefferson came up short against Northwest Whitfield in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, falling 3-1. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
