Volleyball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

If Highlands was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Chesterton Academy of Sacramento on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Scots came up short against the Vacaville Christian Falcons on Wednesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, 25-16.

Vacaville Christian found their leader in sophomore Bella Linton, who had three digs and three aces. Linton is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Highlands dropped their record down to 7-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Vacaville Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Highlands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Foothill on the 16th. As for Vacaville Christian, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Heritage on the 18th.
