Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laguna Creek). They took down the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack 73-58 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Wolfpack back in January, they had to take a 69-63 defeat.

Laguna Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Boyce led the charge by putting up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylan Virgil, who went 7 of 16 to rack up 19 points.

Laguna Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cosumnes Oaks still got an impressive performance from Devin Jones, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marcus Menefee, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points.

Laguna Creek's victory bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Laguna Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-68 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 7th. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have also already played their next game, an 89-45 defeat against Monterey Trail on the 7th.
