Basketball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was the 55-49 winner over Knightdale when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Heritage Huskies fell just short of the Knightdale Knights by a score of 39-36 on Friday. The match marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Knightdale to victory were Stephen Murray and Isaiah Green. Murray posted six points along with 18 boards and three steals, while Green earned 14 points and seven rebounds. Those 18 rebounds gave Murray a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Adams, who put up seven points.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Knightdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will venture away from home to take on Rolesville at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knightdale, they are taking a road trip to square off against Wakefield at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Wakefield: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Knightdale has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
