Basketball Recap: Northridge Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Northridge's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 40-35 W over the Box Elder Bees. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 54-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paola Almeida, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Almeida is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Brooklyn Burt was another key player, putting up seven points along with five assists and five boards.

With the win, Northridge broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7. As for Box Elder, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Northridge will welcome Viewmont at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Viewmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. As for Box Elder, they will head out to challenge Bonneville at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Box Elder is facing Bonneville at the right time seeing as Bonneville is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
