Softball Recap: Monessen Takes a Loss

Monessen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Jeannette Jayhawks, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jayhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 two weeks ago.

Monessen's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Jeannette, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monessen will head out to challenge Ellis at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ellis has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something Monessen will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jeannette, they will head out on the road to take on Serra Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
