Goleman dropped down to 4-2 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Cardinal Newman Crusaders, falling 28-7. The Gators were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matchups prior), but the Crusaders' defense proved too tough.

Timothy Potts threw for 76 yards and one touchdown.

As for Cardinal Newman, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Cardinal Newman had a senior duo take command as Jyron Hughley rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only nine carries and Phoenix Donghia rushed for 103 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.

Coming up, Goleman will challenge Western at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Gators will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cardinal Newman, they will take on Melbourne Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
