New Caney's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Caney Creek Panthers 38-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

A big part of New Caney's win came down to the chemistry between PAYTON LOPEZ and his top target BRAYDEN LOGAN. LOPEZ rushed for 71 yards and a pair of TDs while LOGAN picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those two receiving touchdowns gave LOGAN a new career-high.

New Caney's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Caney Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-6.

New Caney and Caney Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 278th) will meet The Woodlands (ranked 55th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Caney Creek will take on Conroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (663 vs. 205).
