Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Valley Cougars vs. Leland Chargers

Evergreen Valley is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Leland is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Evergreen Valley Cougars will welcome the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long.

Last Monday, Evergreen Valley beat Piedmont Hills 68-58.

Meanwhile, Leland didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gilroy on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win.

Leland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Evergreen Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Everything came up roses for Evergreen Valley against Leland when the teams last played back in February of 2020, as the team secured a 76-49 win. Will Evergreen Valley repeat their success, or does Leland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
