Baseball Game Preview: Mount Tabor Spartans vs. North Davidson Knights

The Mount Tabor Spartans will face off against the North Davidson Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mount Tabor will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Glenn, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Spartans blew past the Bobcats 11-1 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Julius Vaughn looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ty Koonin was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of James Price, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, North Davidson got themselves on the board against North Forsyth on Monday, but North Forsyth never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Vikings. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mount Tabor's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for North Davidson, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Mount Tabor skirted past North Davidson 3-2 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
