Baseball Recap: Medford Find Success

Medford proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 14) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Lynn English Bulldogs 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since May 25, 2024.

Alex Gazzola was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Justin Marino, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Medford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Lynn English, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medford will face off against rival Somerville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lynn English is set to challenge their familiar foe Revere at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
