Basketball Recap: Alexandria City Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kori Dickerson and Gabrielle Barnes-Thomas

Alexandria City lost against Robinson two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alexandria City Titans lost 60-40 to the Robinson Rams. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Rams are ranked tenth).

Alexandria City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gabrielle Barnes-Thomas, who posted 17 points, and Kori Dickerson, who put up 13 points. The dominant performance gave Dickerson a new career-high in points.

This is the second loss in a row for Alexandria City and nudges their season record down to 7-12. As for Robinson, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Alexandria City is taking a road trip to challenge West Potomac at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. West Potomac is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. As for Robinson, they will welcome Fairfax at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
