Baseball Game Preview: Waunakee Warriors vs. DeForest Norskies

The Waunakee Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the DeForest Norskies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Waunakee has three straight wins, DeForest has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Waunakee is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Madison West on Saturday as they made off with a 17-6 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, DeForest didn't have quite enough to beat Verona on Monday and fell 2-1.

Joseph Hall was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, DeForest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Ugalde, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Waunakee's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for DeForest, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Waunakee beat DeForest 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
